EVSCOPE 2

$3,999.00 Regular price $4,999.00

Live observation

Live, not later.

Point EVSCOPE 2 at the sky and watch distant worlds reveal themselves. Galaxies and nebulae take shape out of the dark, in color and in detail, and grow richer while you watch. This is an instrument for observing, not a machine that hands you a picture afterward.

That is what you expect from a telescope, and it is where UNISTELLAR began. Dynamic Signal Amplification stacks short exposures as they arrive, so the image builds in real time.

  • “Seeing color in a nebula from a garden in San Francisco? That’s pretty cool.”

  • “A user-friendly, compact smart telescope that delivers stunning deep-sky colour views”

Nikon Eyepiece Technology

See it with your own eye.

The most immersive way to observe the sky is also the most natural: your eye at the eyepiece, the way astronomers always have. The object floats in the dark, almost within reach, and the rest of the world falls away. EVSCOPE 2 carries eyepiece technology developed in collaboration with Nikon, exclusive to UNISTELLAR. Only EVSCOPE 2 and ODYSSEY PRO have it.

Nikon Eyepiece Technology

Made for the way your eye sees the sky.

The electronic eyepiece developed in collaboration with Nikon pairs a precision lens assembly with an OLED micro-display, for an image with deep blacks and vibrant colors.

The eyepiece and, enlarged, its lens assembly
  • Focused at infinity

The lenses project the image to infinity, the natural resting position of the eye. You feel immersed in space, and long sessions stay comfortable.

  • 100,000:1 contrast

The OLED micro-display keeps the blacks deep and lets faint detail stand out, like the dark edge of the Sombrero Galaxy.

  • Four precision lenses

A high-precision assembly of four spherical and aspherical lenses, designed to be free of optical aberrations.

  • Fitted to your eyes

A diopter adjustment wheel adapts the eyepiece to your vision.

UNISTELLAR app

Choose a target. Or wander.

A woman holds a phone open on the UNISTELLAR app catalog: the Eagle Nebula, Jupiter, the Whirlpool Galaxy and the Trifid Nebula

Pick from a catalog of over 5,000 objects and a 37 million star database: the telescope finds it and tracks it. Or leave the catalog behind: steer across the sky with the joystick in the app, at your own pace, and see what is out there.

Smart Star Finder points and tracks from the moment the telescope is on, even when few stars are visible. The UNISTELLAR app is free, on iOS and Android, for phones and tablets.

The UNISTELLAR app

Your personal command center.

Free on iOS and Android, for phones and tablets. The app points the telescope, tells you what you are looking at and keeps improving with every update.

With EVSCOPE 2, you join the UNISTELLAR Network: owners around the world who observe the same targets at the same moments, following shared protocols, in partnership with astronomers at the SETI Institute. Your data goes to professional scientists, who use it to refine orbits, shape asteroids and search for new planets, in partnership with NASA.

UNISTELLAR built the world's first crowdsourced astronomical research community.

Frequently asked questions

Can I return the telescope if I change my mind?

Yes. You can return it within 30 days of delivery.

Does the UNISTELLAR app work on iOS and Android?

Yes. The app is free on the App Store and Google Play, for phones and tablets.

I'm new to telescopes. How can I start observing quickly?

No astronomy knowledge needed, and no polar alignment: Smart Star Finder recognizes the stars and orients the telescope on its own. Choose a target in the free UNISTELLAR app, and the telescope points to it and tracks it.

What warranty do I get?

Two years, which you can extend with UNISTELLAR Care at checkout.

Do I need to focus and collimate it?

Yes, by hand. Focus with the Bahtinov mask included in the box, and collimate with the set of adjustment tools provided. Orientation is automatic: Smart Star Finder finds its way across the sky on its own.

Can several people watch at the same time?

Yes. Up to 10 people can follow the same observation on their own phones or tablets, with the free UNISTELLAR app.

Can I travel with it?

Yes. EVSCOPE 2 weighs 7 kg (15.5 lbs) and measures 650 × 190 × 230 mm. It travels in checked baggage. Check your airline's own limits before you fly.

Can I use it in the city, with light pollution?

Yes. Deep Dark Technology filters out the interference of city lights, so you can observe deep sky objects from your backyard, your balcony or a rooftop.

Can I process the raw data myself?

Yes. For observations made in Enhanced Vision or Citizen Science mode, you can download the raw data as FITS, TIFF or PNG files and process it with PixInsight, Siril, Affinity or your own code. The raw frames look gray until they are debayered. Live View data cannot be downloaded. Raw processing is for experienced users: for everyone else, the app gives you a finished image to share.
